Today, I officially hand over the position of Director-General of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Somaliland to my esteemed colleague and friend, Dr. Maxamuud Xuseen Aadam (Jabaake). Dr. Jabaake is an exceptionally qualified leader whose expertise, dedication, and forward-thinking vision make him more than capable of taking the ministry to new heights. His extensive experience and deep understanding of governance and development will undoubtedly enhance the ministry’s capacity to serve the people of Somaliland.
It has been a privilege to be part of the leadership of this ministry and work alongside the dedicated team of professionals who are the backbone of its success. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire staff for their unwavering support, professionalism, and commitment to excellence during my tenure. I am confident that their collaboration with Dr. Jabaake will ensure continued progress and innovation in Somaliland’s trade and tourism sectors.
I also take this opportunity to express my profound appreciation to the newly appointed Ministers of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism for their commitment to public service. Your leadership will be instrumental in steering the ministry’s initiatives toward achieving national development goals.
Equally, I would like to recognize and honor the contributions of the former Ministers who have shaped the ministry’s legacy. In particular, I extend my deepest gratitude to Hon. Mohamoud Hassan Saad “Saajin,” the former Minister of Trade and Tourism and the Vice Presidential candidate of Kulmiye Party. Hon. Saajin’s visionary leadership, strategic guidance, and dedication to public service have left an indelible mark on this ministry and the broader government.
I am also profoundly grateful to the former President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, for the trust he placed in me by appointing me to serve in three key government institutions: the Ministry of Planning and National Development, the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Family, and the Ministry of Trade and Tourism. His Excellency’s confidence in my abilities was both an honor and a responsibility that I approached with utmost dedication.
As I hand over this position, I reflect on the progress we have made and the challenges we have faced together. I remain deeply committed to the continued development of Somaliland and its institutions. I am confident that under the capable leadership of the ministers and DG Dr. Jabaake and the ministry’s team, the trade and tourism sectors will continue to thrive, contributing significantly to our nation’s prosperity.
